Kennedy Center with Friends, a Hammer, and the Super Bowl

This weekend was fun. Mari and I went to see a friend of mine from college perform with the NSO. We enjoy the Kennedy Center, especially when the tickets are free (the link takes you to a yahoo group that will inform you of free Kennedy Center tickets).

My friend Danny is the one playing the xylophone.
Paul and his girlfriend Mandie joined us.
In case you're interested, the Lion King is coming to the Kennedy Center.
One of the highlights of the night was being in the 4th row. We were just a few feet away from when a giant man played this giant hammer. It was a little distracting hearing a beautiful string line while seeing a large hammer about to be swung down on a huge wooden box. I think Mahler might be the founder of 'junk percussion.' Here is a video with someone else playing the Hammer.
Just like half of America, Mari and I watched the super bowl. It was a great game.
Here are our fearless Care Group leaders posing for a family photo.
Mari is starting to enjoy football. Well, maybe enjoy is too strong of a word. Check out our care group glued to the game.

The best part of this weekend was hanging with Mari, whether at the Kennedy Center or watching a football game I love being with her!
